Hey, I’m Salena, the creator of Our Happy Place - a small New Zealand clothing brand inspired by the beaches, bach towns, and hidden corners we love most.

It all started one winter when I was hunting for a new hoodie. I try to buy less and choose well, but I couldn’t find anything that felt just right - so I made my own!

That first design was inspired by my family’s happy place - Kūaotunu. It’s where we have a caravan and spend our favourite family holidays, and I wanted to capture that feeling in something I could wear. So, I did! And that’s how this all began.

That hoodie quickly became a conversation starter, and soon friends, family, and even strangers I bumped into wanted one too.

Now, Our Happy Place has grown into a collection of New Zealand-made souvenir tees, hoodies, and hats that celebrate the places that mean the most - from Piha to Whitianga to Abel Tasman, and plenty in between. Each design features original NZ landscape photography woven into the lettering of your favourite spot.

All our garments are premium AS Colour quality, printed locally in New Zealand, and made to last. They’re a meaningful NZ gift or souvenir - something to remind you (or someone overseas) of home.

We now send orders all over New Zealand and around the world, with lots of happy customers in Australia, the UK, and the US - Kiwis abroad who want a wearable reminder of Aotearoa.
